Unusual Hotels in Paris

Paris is the top destination for a romantic getaway, but why not make it even more memorable by staying in one of the many unusual hotels located in the heart of Paris! I have written a short description of four of the hotels, so you can make your own mind up on which would be the strangest place to stay!

The first is Hotel Mayet which is located in les Invalides, it is a cosy hotel and best described as a modern bed & breakfast. Breakfast is served in a cellar on a long table containing a very bright table cloth, but it gives you the chance to get to know the other guests! The rooms are decorated in different patterns but all in the colours of red and grey, the most unusual part of this hotel is how the hallways and communal areas are decorated! They all contain large graffiti designs which are neon in colour - very different from your traditional B&B!

The second hotel is Hotel Saint-Merry which is located in the historic Marais Quarter of Paris. As you might have guessed by the name, Hotel Saint-Merry was originally a prestbytery and one of the bedrooms is even intersected by a flying buttress! As the building originates from the 17th century, the hotel owners decided to give the hotel a gothic style decor complete with iron chandeliers, carved wooden chairs and they have kept all the original beams which add to its spooky feel - this hotel is definitely not for those who are scared of the dark!

The third hotel is the very beautiful Le Bellechasse and is a must for art lovers everywhere! This is a five star hotel and a member of the small luxury hotels of the world! The hotel contains 34 rooms that have all been decorated by Christian Lacroix! The design theme of the rooms is from the "old to the new" and the room designs include butterflies on the ceiling, along with some other very large printed wallpaper. A lot of time and effort has been put into decorating this hotel and all the rooms are completely unique, making this a hotel to remember!

Paris is full of unique and unusual hotels, so make your trip to Paris even more special and stay in one of them! If you want to find even more unusual hotels then read a travel guide on them and they will also be able to tell you the best locations for the sights you want to see!

The Eiffel Tower: Paris's Iron Lady and Symbol of Romance

Standing tall amidst the Parisian skyline, the Eiffel Tower, or as the French affectionately call it, "La Tour Eiffel," is more than just an architectural marvel; it's a symbol of love, art, and human ingenuity. Historical Echoes Constructed as the entrance arch for the 1889 World's Fair, which was held in Paris to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution, the Eiffel Tower was initially met with skepticism by critics. They doubted its stability and criticized its design. Little did they know that this iron lattice tower, designed by the engineer Gustave Eiffel, would go on to become one of the most recognized structures globally. Architectural Splendor The Eiffel Tower, stretching up to 324 meters (1,063 ft) in height, was the world's tallest man-made structure until the completion of the Chrysler Building in New York in 1930. Comprising over 18,000 individual iron parts and held together by 2.5 million rivets, its construction was a testament to ...
